The Carnival of Venice (Carnevale di Venezia) is an annual festival held in Venice, Italy, known for its elaborate masks, historical costumes, and unique atmosphere created by the city\u2019s canals, palaces, and public squares. Der Karneval reicht bis ins Mittelalter zur\u00fcck und erlebte seine Bl\u00fctezeit im 18. Jahrhundert, als die Masken Venezianern aller St\u00e4nde ein freies Miteinander erlaubten. Kost\u00fcmumz\u00fcge und Wettbewerbe<\/strong> – Visitors can watch or enter daily competitions for the Best Mask and Best Costume, held on stages in Piazza San Marco.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Der Engelsflug findet am ersten Sonntag um 12 Uhr statt: Die Vorjahressiegerin der Festa delle Marie, eines Wettbewerbs von zw\u00f6lf jungen Venezianerinnen, schwebt vom Glockenturm herab. Am Er\u00f6ffnungswochenende verwandelt sich der Rio di Cannaregio mit geschm\u00fcckten Booten in eine Festb\u00fchne auf dem Wasser, und am letzten Tag wird auf dem Markusplatz die neue Maria gek\u00fcrt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
