The current form of the celebration is centered around the St. Patrick\u2019s Festival, which developed in the mid-1990s as a way to showcase Irish arts, culture, and heritage, and to attract tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wann und wo es stattfindet<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main public celebration centers on Dublin. The St. Patrick\u2019s Festival runs for several days and culminates on 17 March; in 2027 it takes place from Saturday 13 to Wednesday 17 March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade starts at noon on 17 March. The 3.2 km route begins in Parnell Square, runs down O\u2019Connell Street and over O\u2019Connell Bridge, and continues through the south side of the city to the junction of Cuffe Street and Kevin Street.
