Cologne Carnival (K\u00f6lner Karneval) is a major annual festival held in Cologne, Germany, renowned for its colorful parades, elaborate costumes, and vibrant street celebrations. Often referred to as the \u201cfifth season\u201d, the carnival officially begins on November 11 at 11:11 a.m., but the main festivities take place during the week leading up to Ash Wednesday, in February or early March. Cologne Carnival is a blend of centuries-old traditions and modern public celebrations. D\u00e9fil\u00e9 du Rosenmontag<\/strong> – The highlight of the carnival, on the Monday before Ash Wednesday. Floats often feature satirical depictions of politicians, celebrities, and current events, and their crews throw sweets (Kamelle) and flowers into the crowds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
F\u00eates de rue et bals costum\u00e9s<\/strong> – Throughout carnival week, Cologne\u2019s neighborhoods host street parties, music events, and themed balls. Popular districts include the Old Town (Altstadt) and city squares around the cathedral.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

En 2027, le carnaval de rue se d\u00e9roule du Weiberfastnacht, le 4 f\u00e9vrier, au mercredi des Cendres, le 10 f\u00e9vrier, avec le d\u00e9fil\u00e9 du Rosenmontag le 8 f\u00e9vrier ; la nouvelle saison s\u2019ouvre le 11 novembre 2026 \u00e0 11 h 11. Assister aux d\u00e9fil\u00e9s est gratuit.
