Rosenborg Castle stands in the King’s Garden (Kongens Have) at \u00d8ster Voldgade 4A in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It is exceptionally easy to reach, lying only about 200 metres from N\u00f8rreport station, which is a hub for the Metro, S-trains, regional trains, and city buses. The Round Tower is a short walk away, making the two simple to combine. There is no parking at the castle itself, so public transport is the recommended option. The surrounding King’s Garden is a free public park and a pleasant place to relax before or after a visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Historique et faits marquants<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The castle was built in the early 17th century by King Christian IV, one of Denmark’s most ambitious monarchs and a great patron of the arts, who used it as his favourite residence. Today it preserves around 400 years of royal history across some 24 rooms on three floors, beginning with Christian IV’s own Winter Room and culminating in the magnificent Long Hall that runs the full length of the top floor. The undisputed highlight is the Treasury in the basement, where the Danish Crown Jewels and Royal Regalia are kept under guard, including the dazzling coronation crown. Self-guided tour leaflets are available in several languages at the entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le ch\u00e2teau \u00e9tant de petite taille, les billets sont vendus par cr\u00e9neaux horaires, et il est fortement recommand\u00e9 de r\u00e9server en ligne \u00e0 l'avance pendant la haute saison estivale afin d'\u00e9viter toute d\u00e9ception et les files d'attente. Les personnes souhaitant visiter plusieurs sites royaux peuvent utiliser le Royal Palace Pass, qui couvre Rosenborg, Amalienborg et Christiansborg pour environ 345 DKK sur trois jours ; la Copenhagen Card donne \u00e9galement droit \u00e0 l'entr\u00e9e gratuite.
