The quarter preserves narrow stone-paved streets, stone houses from the 14th\u201315th centuries, and a dense network of squares and small alleys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Localisation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le quartier gothique est situ\u00e9 au c\u0153ur du vieux Barcelone, bord\u00e9 par la Plaza Catalunya, la Rambla et la Via Laietana. Il est facilement accessible \u00e0 pied depuis ces sites. Les stations de m\u00e9tro les plus proches sont <strong>Liceu<\/strong> et Jaume I.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Histoire<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">D\u00e9velopp\u00e9 \u00e0 l'origine au Moyen \u00c2ge, le quartier a \u00e9t\u00e9 enti\u00e8rement restaur\u00e9 dans les ann\u00e9es 1920, pr\u00e9servant les structures historiques tout en y ajoutant des mus\u00e9es, des boutiques, des restaurants, des h\u00f4tels et des caf\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Attractions notables<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cath\u00e9drale de Barcelone<\/strong> \u2013 The main Gothic cathedral of the city, featuring intricate fa\u00e7ades and a central cloister.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pla\u00e7a del Pi<\/strong> \u2013 A square where three smaller squares meet, home to the Gothic Church of Santa Maria del Pi, known for its large rose window and octagonal bell tower.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>King\u2019s Square (Pla\u00e7a del Rei)<\/strong> \u2013 Contains the Palau Reial Major (14th century), including a throne room, chapel, and tower. The palace is famous for hosting Christopher Columbus upon his return from America in 1493. The square also houses the Museum of the History of Barcelona.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pla\u00e7a Sant Jaume<\/strong> \u2013 A small square adjacent to the cathedral, featuring two medieval palaces:
