L\u2019imperatore Corrado II ne avvi\u00f2 la costruzione intorno al 1030 e fu consacrato nel 1061. Per quasi 300 anni fu il luogo di sepoltura degli imperatori salici e poi di re tedeschi, e la sua cripta \u00e8 uno dei pi\u00f9 importanti luoghi di sepoltura medievali della Germania. Dal 1981 \u00e8 patrimonio mondiale dell\u2019UNESCO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Posizione<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speyer Cathedral stands in the historic centre of Speyer, in Rhineland-Palatinate in southwestern Germany, at the eastern end of Maximilianstra\u00dfe, the city&#8217;s main street, close to the Rhine. Its red sandstone towers dominate the skyline. Address: Domplatz, 67346 Speyer, Germany. The cathedral is easy to reach:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Treno:<\/strong> Speyer Hauptbahnhof (Main Station), about 15\u201320 minutes on foot<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Autobus:<\/strong> Diverse linee di autobus urbani fermano vicino alla Domplatz<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Auto:<\/strong> Ci sono parcheggi pubblici coperti vicino al centro storico<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Camminare:<\/strong> The cathedral is centrally located and easy to reach from Speyer\u2019s main square<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Spira \u00e8 ben collegata a Mannheim, Heidelberg e Karlsruhe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cosa si pu\u00f2 vedere<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nel Duomo di Spira i visitatori possono scoprire diversi elementi notevoli:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>La navata romanica<\/strong> \u2013 one of the largest surviving Romanesque interiors in the world<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>La cripta imperiale<\/strong> \u2013 the vast Romanesque crypt, consecrated in 1041, and the tombs of four emperors and four kings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Il corpo occidentale e le torri<\/strong> \u2013 monumental architectural elements typical of Romanesque design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>La Kaisersaal<\/strong> \u2013 a hall in the westwork showing the 19th-century frescoes by Johann Schraudolph that once decorated the nave<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Il tesoro del Duomo<\/strong> \u2013 shown in the Historical Museum of the Palatinate across the square, with a separate ticket<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Vista panoramica dalla torre<\/strong> \u2013 a viewing platform in the south-west tower, about 60 metres up, with views over Speyer and the Rhine plain<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cathedral\u2019s massive scale and harmonious proportions make it a masterpiece of medieval engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Orari di apertura<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Da aprile a ottobre il Duomo \u00e8 aperto dal luned\u00ec al sabato dalle 9:00 alle 19:00 e la domenica dalle 11:30 alle 17:30; da novembre a marzo chiude alle 17:00. La cripta apre 30 minuti pi\u00f9 tardi e chiude 30 minuti prima. La Kaisersaal e la torre sono aperte solo da aprile a ottobre (ultimo ingresso alle 17:00).
