It provides access to the upper slopes of Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain at 3,715 meters. The lower station of the cable car is situated at an altitude of approximately 2,356 meters, while the upper station reaches about 3,555 meters, just below the summit. The cableway is one of the main tourist attractions in the Canary Islands and offers a fast and convenient way to experience high-altitude volcanic landscapes.

In 2026 a round-trip ticket costs €42 for adults and €21 for children aged 3–13 (non-resident prices); children under 3 are not allowed on the cable car, and the ticket now also includes the “Ciencia y Leyenda” exhibition. It is recommended to book tickets in advance, as the cable car often stops because of strong wind, ice or capacity limits. Entry to the national park itself is free, but the cable car is a paid attraction.

To reach the actual summit of Mount Teide, visitors must obtain a free permit from the national park, as access is restricted to protect the environment. From the upper cable car station, the final hike to the peak along the Telesforo Bravo trail takes about 30–40 minutes; since 2026 non-residents also pay a €15 eco-tax for this trail (€6 for Canary Islands residents, free for Tenerife residents and children under 14).

The cable car can be reached by car from major tourist areas such as Costa Adeje or Puerto de la Cruz in approximately 1–1.5 hours via mountain roads (TF-21 or TF-24). Public transport is also available: bus line 342 connects Costa Adeje with the cable car base station, while line 348 runs from Puerto de la Cruz, although both operate only once per day in each direction.

Otto minuti di funivia da 2.356 a 3.555 m sul Teide, la vetta più alta della Spagna, con vista sui campi di lava e sulle Canarie.

[1055,961,979

post-13709","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-canary-islands","category-spain","category-transport
["GET
