Rosenborg Castle stands in the King’s Garden (Kongens Have) at \u00d8ster Voldgade 4A in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It is exceptionally easy to reach, lying only about 200 metres from N\u00f8rreport station, which is a hub for the Metro, S-trains, regional trains, and city buses. The Round Tower is a short walk away, making the two simple to combine. There is no parking at the castle itself, so public transport is the recommended option. The surrounding King’s Garden is a free public park and a pleasant place to relax before or after a visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The castle was built in the early 17th century by King Christian IV, one of Denmark’s most ambitious monarchs and a great patron of the arts, who used it as his favourite residence. Today it preserves around 400 years of royal history across some 24 rooms on three floors, beginning with Christian IV’s own Winter Room and culminating in the magnificent Long Hall that runs the full length of the top floor. The undisputed highlight is the Treasury in the basement, where the Danish Crown Jewels and Royal Regalia are kept under guard, including the dazzling coronation crown. Self-guided tour leaflets are available in several languages at the entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il biglietto d\u2019ingresso per gli adulti costa 140 DKK, con una tariffa ridotta di circa 90 DKK per gli studenti, mentre i visitatori sotto i 18 anni entrano gratis (anche se devono comunque munirsi di biglietto). Il prezzo include sia la visita agli interni del castello che al Tesoro. Poich\u00e9 il castello \u00e8 di piccole dimensioni, i biglietti vengono venduti in fasce orarie prestabilite; durante l\u2019affollata stagione estiva si consiglia vivamente di prenotare online in anticipo per evitare delusioni e code. Chi visita pi\u00f9 siti reali pu\u00f2 utilizzare il Royal Palace Pass, valido per Rosenborg, Amalienborg e Christiansborg, al costo di circa 345 DKK per tre giorni; anche la Copenhagen Card garantisce l\u2019ingresso gratuito. Si noti che all\u2019interno sono ammesse solo borse molto piccole; per gli oggetti pi\u00f9 ingombranti sono disponibili degli armadietti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
