Spaccanapoli is the most famous street in the historic centre of Naples, in the south of Italy. Its name means \u201cNaples splitter\u201d, because it runs in a long straight line and seems to cut the old city in two. The street follows a road built by the ancient Greeks, who founded the city more than 2,500 years ago. Together with the parallel street Via dei Tribunali and many small lanes, it forms the heart of the old town. The historic centre of Naples has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walking along Spaccanapoli you pass churches, palaces, small shops and busy street life. Highlights include the Church of Ges\u00f9 Nuovo with its unusual stone fa\u00e7ade, and the Monastery of Santa Chiara, with a cloister decorated with colourful majolica tiles. Nearby, the Sansevero Chapel holds the famous Veiled Christ, a marble statue that looks as if it is covered by a thin cloth. Via San Gregorio Armeno is known for its shops selling handmade nativity figures all year round. Via dei Tribunali is famous for its historic pizzerias, where you can try real Neapolitan pizza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spaccanapoli si trova nel centro di Napoli. Le stazioni della metropolitana pi\u00f9 vicine sono Dante e Toledo. Passeggiare per le vie \u00e8 gratuito e possibile in qualsiasi momento. Alcune chiese sono ad ingresso gratuito, mentre altre, come il chiostro di Santa Chiara e la Cappella del Sansevero, prevedono un biglietto d'ingresso. Le vie sono strette e trafficate, con molti scooter che sfrecciano, quindi camminate con attenzione e tenete la borsa vicino a voi.
