The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (German: Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ged\u00e4chtniskirche) is a Protestant church located on Breitscheidplatz in Berlin, Germany. Severely damaged during World War II bombing, the church was never fully restored and now serves as a memorial to the destruction and hardships of the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Storia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The memorial is also known as the Gedenkeskirche or \u201cBlue Church,\u201d owing to the blue light that illuminates the interior through hexagonal windows. Despite its damaged state, the church retains a functioning bell and an altar featuring a 4.6-meter-high figure of Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
