Fiume Limmat<\/strong> \u00c8 un fiume svizzero che nasce dal lago di Zurigo e attraversa il centro storico di Zurigo. Dopo un percorso di circa 36 km, si unisce al fiume Aare, che a sua volta sfocia nel Reno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nella zona di Zurigo, le rive del fiume sono costellate di edifici storici, molti dei quali si affacciano direttamente sull'acqua. Alcuni di questi edifici ospitano ristoranti e hotel, mentre la maggior parte conserva la funzione di abitazione. Diverse facciate mostrano dettagli architettonici storici.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The river divides the Old Town of Zurich into two historic halves: the right bank, once called the Greater Town, with the Niederdorf quarter and the Grossm\u00fcnster, and the left bank, the Lesser Town, with the Lindenhof and the Fraum\u00fcnster. Along its banks are numerous landmarks, including these two main city churches, as well as former residences of wealthy citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A walk along the river can be started near Zurich Hauptbahnhof and continues upstream toward Lake Zurich. This path, known locally as Limmatquai, spans approximately 800 meters from the Bahnhofbr\u00fccke station bridge to the Wasserkirche (Water Church) and takes roughly 30 minutes to complete. During summer, river boats operate along this route, stopping at several points along the embankment before reaching the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several bridges cross the river, the largest being the Quaibr\u00fccke, where the Limmat flows out of Lake Zurich. The area around the bridges is frequented by ducks and swans, which are abundant on both the river and the lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
