Il ponte di Luxor attraversa il Nilo pochi chilometri a sud (a monte) del centro di Luxor e collega la riva orientale con ad-Dabiyya, sulla riva occidentale, nel governatorato di Luxor, in Egitto. Aperto nel 1998, ha sostituito i traghetti locali come principale collegamento stradale tra le due rive e ha reso molto pi\u00f9 facile raggiungere in auto i templi e le tombe della riva occidentale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dal ponte si gode una splendida vista sul Nilo, qui piuttosto ampio, con palmeti e campi su entrambe le rive e le colline tebane all'orizzonte verso ovest. Vicino al ponte sono ormeggiate diverse navi da crociera: Luxor \u00e8 il punto di partenza o di arrivo della maggior parte delle crociere sul Nilo verso Assuan, che di solito durano tre o quattro notti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bridge is mainly used by road traffic, so most visitors cross it by taxi, minibus or tour bus on the way to the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut or the Colossi of Memnon. In the city center, public ferries and motorboats still cross the river between the Corniche and the West Bank \u2013 an inexpensive way to enjoy the Nile up close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
