The Rhine Falls is situated near the town of Schaffhausen, close to the Swiss\u2013German border. The nearest major cities with international airports are Zurich and Basel. The waterfall measures approximately 150 meters in width and 23 meters in height. Although other Swiss waterfalls, such as Staubbachfall, are higher, the Rhine Falls is notable for its width and the powerful force of the water. During periods of maximum flow, the discharge can exceed 600 cubic meters per second. The formation of the waterfall dates back more than 14,000 years, originating after the last Ice Age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Excursion boats operate from the northern bank near W\u00f6rth Castle, transporting visitors to the central rock located within the waterfall. From the rock, panoramic views are available. Boat tickets cost around 10\u201320 CHF for adults, depending on the route, with departures approximately every 10 minutes during the main visitor season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pedestrian path leads from the castle to platforms located directly beside the cascading water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
