It houses a collection of Jean Tinguely\u2019s kinetic sculptures\u2014mechanical creations built from scrap metal, wheels, pipes, and discarded objects. These unusual machines knock, creak, splash water, or suddenly spring to life with unexpected sounds. He believed that static art was outdated: \u201cEverything is constantly moving, changing. Static does not exist.\u201d Throughout his career, he created hundreds of works that can now be found not only in Basel but also in Zurich, Paris, and other cities. Inside, the machines range from massive, room-sized contraptions to small, playful works. They don\u2019t just stand still\u2014they move, draw, clatter, play music, or spray water. Sometimes they stop, only to start moving again. This unpredictability fascinates visitors of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jean Tinguely\u2019s works remind us that art can be alive, noisy, and joyful.
