It\u2019s a charming spot to wander, though you\u2019ll also come across some abandoned buildings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2. The British-Era Quarter (late 19th\u2013early 20th century)<\/strong><br>Walking from the castle toward Ayia Napa Cathedral, you\u2019ll gradually enter the part of the city built during British rule. Here you\u2019ll see colonial-style mansions, hotels, and public buildings that reflect Limassol\u2019s transformation from a village into a modern city. Highlights include the Ayia Napa Cathedral, the Central Market, and elegant buildings along Agiou Andreou Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further exploration along Archiepiskopou Kyprianou Street leads to the City Hall and the Cyprus University of Technology. Around the university you\u2019ll find a lively square with a fountain and several architecturally notable former British buildings, including a 1911 courthouse.
