Pedestrian Center of Burgas

The old center of Burgas contains a large pedestrian area, primarily formed by Aleksandrovska Street, Bogoridi Street, Aprilov Street, and Troikata Square.

Aleksandrovska Street is the main pedestrian thoroughfare of Burgas. It begins at the city railway station and runs through the old city center towards Troikata Square. Beyond the square, it continues to the University of Burgas and ends at San Stefano Boulevard. The street has a total length of approximately 1 km. Aleksandrovska Street is relatively wide and lined with trees, providing shade during summer. Several fountains, sculptures, and 2–3 storey buildings are located along the street, though there are no particularly unique historical structures. At the intersection with Bogoridi Street, there is a small green park. The street hosts a variety of shops, offices, administrative buildings, restaurants, hotels, and cafes.

Bogoridi Street extends from Aleksandrovska Street towards the Seaside Park and city beach. It is narrower than Aleksandrovska Street and lacks greenery. The street is busier and noisier, with numerous restaurants and cafes along its length.

Aprilov Street and nearby Kirill and Methodius Street are shorter streets with pedestrian amenities. Benches and cafes with summer terraces are present, and during the season, palm trees in pots are displayed along the streets.

Troikata Square is the main square of Burgas. In recent years, it has undergone reconstruction and acquired a modern appearance.

The pedestrian center of Burgas contains mainly small shops and stalls offering goods of local and foreign origin. There are no large shopping centers or hypermarkets; for more extensive shopping, visitors typically go to other parts of Burgas.
