Zurich Waterfront refers to the areas along both sides of Lake Zurich (Zürichsee) in Switzerland. It is one of the main public spaces in the city, providing green areas and promenades for walking and recreation.

The Limmat River, which flows into the lake, and the Quaibrücke bridge at its mouth divide the waterfront into two sections. The western section, on the right-hand side when facing the lake from the city, is called Mythenquai, while the eastern section is known as Utoquai. Both sections feature parks, walking paths, benches, and areas suitable for sunbathing and swimming in the lake, which has clean water though it remains cool in summer.

Near the river mouth, opposite Bahnhofstrasse, there is a small pier offering boat trips on historic paddle steamers dating from the early 20th century. Lake Zurich itself is approximately 40 km long and stretches toward the Alps. Near Rapperswil, a dam divides the lake into two sections.

Further west along the waterfront are Enge Park and Belvoirpark, which include fountains that shoot water directly from the lake. At the eastern end, the promenade continues to Zurichhorn Park, which contains the Chinese Garden, a small landscaped area with traditional architecture. Near the city center, the eastern embankment also features an outdoor sculpture, the “Crazy Mechanism” by the Swiss artist Jean Tinguely.

The waterfront is used for cultural events, public gatherings, and seasonal festivals, making it an important recreational and social space for Zurich’s residents.
