Cala\u202fMacarella is a scenic sandy cove located on the southern shore of the island of Menorca in the Balearic Islands of Spain, near the town of Ciutadella de Menorca. Situated between limestone cliffs and backed by pine woodland, the beach is celebrated for its turquoise\u2011blue water and relatively preserved natural surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cove lies within a rocky coastal zone, flanked by steep cliffs and a pine forest rising behind it. Its \u201csister\u201d cove, Cala Macarelleta, is just a short walk away and offers a smaller, more secluded experience. The general terrain is natural, and while some visitor infrastructure exists (bar, toilets, showers), the setting remains more rustic than heavily developed resort beaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outside the busiest summer months, you can drive toward Cala\u202fMacarella via the road from Ciutadella. A parking area exists, followed by a 10\u201315\u202fminute walk through woodland to the beach. However, from about June 1 to September 30 (summer high\u2011season), car access is restricted: vehicles are often not permitted all the way down, and parking may be closed or full.
There is a paid parking lot (around \u20ac6) for cars with a 5\u201315\u202fminute walk to the beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can also reach Cala\u202fMacarella on foot from nearby beaches. For instance, walking from Cala Galdana takes around 30\u201340\u202fminutes along a scenic trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Arrive early if possible, especially in high season, because parking (or bus drop\u2011off) fills quickly.
\u2013 Wear comfortable shoes: the woodland path includes some uneven terrain.
\u2013 Bring your own shade (umbrella) or chairs: while a bar exists, sunbeds and umbrellas may not always be available for rent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
