Playa de\u202fSes\u202fIlletes is a renowned beach located on the northern tip of the island of Formentera in the Balearic\u202fIslands of Spain. It lies within the protected zone of the Parque Natural de Ses Salines (Eivissa y Formentera). The beach is often described as one of the most beautiful in Europe, thanks to its fine white sand, shallow turquoise waters and the small islets lying just offshore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ses\u202fIlletes occupies much of the peninsula known as Es\u202fTrucadors, at the extreme north of Formentera. The stretch of sand is oriented west\u2011ward and is backed by dunes and the natural environment of the national park. The name \u201cIlletes\u201d refers to the small islets (e.g., Illa de\u202fTramuntana, Illa Redona, Escull\u202fd\u2019en\u202fPalla) which lie in front of the coast and give the spot its iconic appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sea here is very calm and shallow for a good way out, with a gentle slope, making it also family\u2011friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Because the water is shallow and calm, it\u2019s excellent for swimming, families and snorkelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
