Overlooking the city and the Bay of Palma, it is one of the island\u2019s most prominent landmarks and a rare example of a circular fortress in Europe. Built in the 14th century for King James II of Majorca, the castle combines Gothic architecture with defensive strength and panoramic beauty. Today, it serves as both a museum and a popular tourist attraction, offering stunning views, cultural exhibits, and a glimpse into Mallorca\u2019s medieval past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u5386\u53f2<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Construction of Castell de Bellver began around 1300 under the direction of King James II, who commissioned it as a royal residence. Designed by architect Pere Salv\u00e0, the castle was intended as a luxurious retreat rather than a purely military fortress. The main structure consists of a large circular wall with four towers, one of which, the Torre del Homenaje, stands slightly apart and connected by a bridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The castle features two levels:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u200b <strong>ground floor<\/strong>, surrounded by semicircular arches supported by thick columns, originally used for service and storage areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u200b <strong>upper floor<\/strong>, which contains Gothic-style rooms that once served as royal chambers, decorated with elegant arches and vaulted ceilings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u4e3a\u4f55\u95fb\u540d<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Castell de Bellver is renowned for its unique circular design, panoramic location, and historical significance. Few medieval castles in Europe share this architectural style, making it an exceptional example of Gothic innovation. Visitors can drive up following signs to \u201cCastell de Bellver.\u201d There is a small parking area near the entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u4e58\u5750\u516c\u4ea4\u8f66\uff1a<\/strong><br>Local bus lines from central Palma (such as Line 4 or Line 20) stop near the base of the hill.
