Instead, it is a celebration of physical effort, teamwork, and cultural tradition. The date changes annually depending on the Christian liturgical calendar, generally falling between mid-May and early June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The event takes place entirely within Venice and its lagoon, following a set route that highlights some of the most iconic waterways and island communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The route covers approximately 30 kilometers, beginning and ending in the heart of Venice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Start at St. Mark\u2019s Basin (Bacino San Marco)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Venetian Lagoon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Murano, famous for glassmaking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Burano, known for colorful houses and lace traditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mazzorbo, a quieter, vineyard-lined island<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Return through the Cannaregio Canal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The final stretch follows the Grand Canal toward the Rialto area, concluding near St. Mark\u2019s Basin.
