It is considered one of the most picturesque lakes in the Slovak part of the High Tatras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u4f4d\u7f6e\u548c\u4ea4\u901a<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lake lies in the Mengusovsk\u00e1 Valley at an altitude of 1,494 meters above sea level. The easiest access point is from the Popradsk\u00e9 pleso railway station, from where an asphalt path leads to the lake. The walk takes approximately 40 minutes and involves a gentle uphill climb. Motorized access is restricted, and vehicles require a special permit issued by the nature park authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Physical Characteristics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Popradsk\u00e9 pleso is of glacial origin, like many other High Tatras lakes. Its main features include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Maximum depth:<\/strong> 17 meters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Surface area:<\/strong> 6.88 hectares<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Water clarity:<\/strong> Typically very clear, reflecting the surrounding mountains<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Infrastructure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Near the lake is a small mountain hotel, which offers basic amenities and a caf\u00e9. The caf\u00e9 is popular for its local hot tea mixed with dried fruits, which is both inexpensive and highly recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A footpath circles the lake, allowing visitors to walk around Popradsk\u00e9 pleso in 25\u201330 minutes. Several hiking trails also start from here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Easy route to \u0160trbsk\u00e9 Pleso \u2013 suitable for most visitors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Difficult route to Ve\u013eick\u00e9 pleso \u2013 involves a steep climb towards Mount Ostrva<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u9644\u8fd1\u666f\u70b9<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Close to the lake is the Symbolic Cemetery, a memorial dedicated to climbers and visitors who have lost their lives in the High Tatras. It takes about 5\u20137 minutes on foot to reach from Popradsk\u00e9 pleso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tourism and Activities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Popradsk\u00e9 pleso is a popular destination for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hiking and trekking in the High Tatras<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photography, due to the lake\u2019s reflection of surrounding peaks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relaxation and short picnics by the lakeshore<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Observing alpine flora and fauna<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The lake is accessible throughout the year, but conditions can vary significantly depending on the season. In winter, paths may be icy or snow-covered, so visitors are advised to wear proper footwear and check weather conditions in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Popradsk\u00e9 pleso is not only a natural landmark but also an important starting point for exploring the surrounding High Tatras, making it a must-visit for nature lovers and hikers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
