The district is situated on a small hill on the banks of the Limmat River. In antiquity, a Roman fortress occupied the top of the hill. During the Middle Ages, a Carolingian palace was constructed on the site. The hill also played a role in Swiss history: in 1798 the citizens of Zurich swore an oath here to the constitution of the Helvetic Republic. Today, there are no original buildings remaining on the historic site. Instead, there is a small square known as Lindenhof Park (translated as \u201cLinden Yard\u201d), which provides a view over the river, the University of Zurich, and the surrounding city. The park features trees, a fountain, and seating areas. It is a popular location for resting, dining, and photography. The observation area is considered one of the best viewpoints in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the park, the Lindenhof district contains St. Peter’s Church and the Fraum\u00fcnster, both important religious and historical landmarks of Zurich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6797\u767b\u970d\u592b\u6bcf\u5e74\u8fd8\u4f1a\u4e3e\u529e\u591a\u9879\u6587\u5316\u6d3b\u52a8\u548c\u5c0f\u578b\u516c\u4f17\u805a\u4f1a\uff0c\u5305\u62ec\u9732\u5929\u56fd\u9645\u8c61\u68cb\u3001\u5f53\u5730\u6f14\u51fa\u548c\u5386\u53f2\u5bfc\u89c8\u3002\u5728\u8fd9\u91cc\u53ef\u4ee5\u4e86\u89e3\u82cf\u9ece\u4e16\u4e2d\u4e16\u7eaa\u548c\u8fd1\u4ee3\u65e9\u671f\u7684\u5386\u53f2\uff0c\u5b83\u59cb\u7ec8\u662f\u5f53\u5730\u4eba\u548c\u6e38\u5ba2\u559c\u7231\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
