It is situated in a secluded and rugged location between Protaras and Ayia Napa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u4ea4\u901a\u6307\u5357<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>From the coast:<\/strong> Walking takes about 40 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u9a7e\u8f66\uff1a<\/strong> You can drive part of the way on asphalt, but the last 2 km are a rough dirt road with potholes, and the final 20\u201330 meters require climbing uphill.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tips:<\/strong> Taxi drivers are usually reluctant to go here due to the road conditions. It\u2019s best to visit during daylight and bring water. Signage is minimal, so checking Google Maps beforehand is recommended.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the Church<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The church is built inside a natural cave on a small rocky hill.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visitors must climb wooden steps and unlock the door themselves; there is no permanent clergy or monks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inside, the church is dimly lit, with light entering only through a small window in the cave\u2019s dome.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Name and Legend<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Agioi Saranta means \u201c40 Saints\u201d in Greek.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>According to legend, the 40 saints were Roman soldiers executed in 320 AD by Emperor Licinius for refusing to renounce Christianity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>March 9 is their feast day, and local residents often visit the cave church to commemorate them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> This church is more of a quiet, spiritual stop than a tourist attraction.
