Palombaggia Beach is one of the most famous and picturesque beaches in Corsica (France), located about 10 kilometres south of Porto-Vecchio on the south-east coast of the island. Known for its fine white sand, turquoise water and red granite rocks framed by pine trees, Palombaggia often appears on lists of Europe’s most beautiful beaches. Its unspoiled natural setting, crystal-clear sea and relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere attract both locals and international travellers.
Overview and Landscape
The beach stretches for about 2 kilometres in a gentle curve of soft sand bordered by calm, shallow water. The contrast between the white sand, the blue-green sea and the reddish rocks creates a stunning natural palette, and a line of umbrella pines behind the beach provides shade. Offshore you can see the Cerbicale Islands, a protected nature reserve.
Palombaggia Beach is divided into several sections, some with beach clubs offering full amenities, and others remaining more natural and quiet. This balance makes it suitable for all types of visitors — families, couples, and those seeking tranquility.
