Pushcha-Voditsa Park, Kyiv

Pushcha-Voditsa Park is a scenic forest park on the northwestern edge of Kyiv, restored in 2018 after a long period of neglect. Known for its dense pine and oak forests and a series of forest lakes, Pushcha-Voditsa has been a resort area since the late 19th century.

History and Features

During the Soviet era, Pushcha-Voditsa hosted sanatoriums, holiday homes, and children’s camps, along with equipped beaches on the lakes. Many of these facilities have fallen into disrepair, but the park itself was renovated in 2018. Today, visitors can enjoy:

• Renovated alleys and a wooden bridge across Lake Gorashchikha
• New sculptures and benches
• A sports ground
• A café and public toilets
• An equipped beach, with plans for a children’s playground

The park spans about 12 hectares and can be leisurely explored in roughly an hour. Its boundaries blend seamlessly into the surrounding forest, making it ideal for picnics or swimming in the lakes.

Getting There

• Tram: Tram number 12 runs from Kontraktova Square in Podil to Pushcha-Voditsa Park. The ride takes over an hour, passing through urban areas and forested paths. Get off at the Pushcha-Voditsa Park stop.
• Car: The park is about 5 minutes from the Kyiv Ring Road, with the nearby Warsaw Highway providing quick access to other nearby parks, such as Buchansky Park.
