The Courtyards Festival of Córdoba (Festival de los Patios) is one of the most unique cultural events in Córdoba, held every spring. In 2026, the festival will take place from 4 May to 17 May . During this period, hundreds of traditional Andalusian houses open their private courtyards to the public, allowing visitors to explore spaces that are normally closed. The event, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, reflects centuries-old traditions of architecture and community life, where interior patios are decorated with flowers, fountains, and handcrafted details.

For tourists, the festival is concentrated mainly in the historic center of Córdoba. The most famous areas include the San Basilio district, the Jewish Quarter around the Mezquita, and streets such as Calle Martín de Roa and Calle San Basilio, where some of the most beautiful patios can be found . Visitors can enter most courtyards free of charge, typically during daytime hours (around late morning and early evening), and walk between them using official maps or marked routes . The experience is immersive: whitewashed walls covered in geraniums, jasmine, and carnations, combined with traditional decorations and the hospitality of local residents.

The highlight of the festival is the courtyard competition, where homeowners compete for awards based on floral decoration, architecture, and atmosphere.
