The Vogalonga Regatta is held every year in late spring, traditionally on Pentecost Sunday. The date changes annually depending on the Christian liturgical calendar, generally falling between mid-May and early June.

The event takes place entirely within Venice and its lagoon, following a set route that highlights some of the most iconic waterways and island communities.

The route covers approximately 30 kilometers, beginning and ending in the heart of Venice:

• Start at St. Mark’s Basin (Bacino San Marco)
• Venetian Lagoon
• Murano, famous for glassmaking
• Burano, known for colorful houses and lace traditions
• Mazzorbo, a quieter, vineyard-lined island
• Return through the Cannaregio Canal

The final stretch follows the Grand Canal toward the Rialto area, concluding near St. Mark’s Basin. Each boat receives a commemorative medal to mark its completion of the course.
