Sziget Festival takes place in Budapest, on Óbuda Island (Óbudai-sziget), a large island on the Danube River. The festival site is located close to the city center and can be easily reached by public transport, including suburban trains (HÉV), buses, and taxis. The festival was founded in 1993 and has grown into one of the most important music and cultural events in Europe.
