Liseberg is one of the most popular amusement parks in Scandinavia, in the heart of Gothenburg, Sweden. Opened in 1923 for the city’s 300th anniversary, it combines thrill rides and family attractions with gardens, shows and restaurants, and it is regularly ranked among the best amusement parks in Europe.
The park features a wide range of rides and attractions:
- Helix – a fast launched steel roller coaster with twists and inversions
- Balder – a wooden roller coaster famous for its airtime
- Valkyria – a dive coaster that plunges into a tunnel, the longest of its kind in Europe
- AtmosFear – a 116-metre free-fall tower with a view over the city
For children there is Kaninlandet, a rabbit-themed area with gentle rides and family fun.
Liseberg opens in seasons: the summer season from spring to early autumn, Halloween in October and the Christmas season in November and December, with restaurants, live music and events. The themed Grand Curiosa Hotel stands next to the park, and Oceana Waterworld, an indoor and outdoor water park, is due to open alongside it in 2027.
Tickets are cheaper online than at the entrance: admission costs from SEK 125, and admission with a Ride Pass for unlimited rides from SEK 425. An annual Liseberg Pass for admission costs SEK 395.
