The Electric Love Festival is one of the biggest electronic music events in Europe, held annually near Salzburg, Austria. The festival takes place at the Salzburgring, a scenic motorsport circuit surrounded by mountains, which creates a unique natural amphitheater for large-scale performances. It is usually held in early or mid-July: the 2026 edition ran from 9 to 11 July, and the next one takes place on 8–10 July 2027, with a warm-up party on Wednesday 7 July.
First held in 2012, Electric Love drew around 180,000 visitors over three days in 2026 and features more than 200 international DJs and artists on several stages, from EDM and techno to house, hardstyle and bass music. The event is known for its high production value, including massive stages, laser shows, pyrotechnics, and immersive visual effects.
What to Expect
The festival includes multiple stages, with the Mainstage hosting headline acts and additional stages dedicated to specific genres. Beyond music, visitors can enjoy camping areas, food courts, and various entertainment zones, creating a full festival experience.
For tourists, Electric Love is easily accessible from Salzburg, with shuttle buses running regularly between the city and the Salzburgring during the event. On-site camping is a popular option, but accommodation in Salzburg is also available for those seeking more comfort.
Tickets and Prices
Tickets for the Electric Love Festival vary depending on the type and booking phase. In 2026 a three-day festival pass cost around €234 plus booking fees, and VIP packages were available at higher prices; prices rise from one sales phase to the next, and tickets for 2027 are already on sale. Camping, parking and the warm-up party cost extra. It is recommended to book early, as tickets often sell out before the event.
How to Get There
The festival takes place at the Salzburgring, about 20 minutes from Salzburg. The easiest way to reach the venue is the free festival shuttle, which runs about every 20 minutes from the rear of Salzburg Main Station (Lastenstraße) to the festival grounds from Wednesday morning until Sunday afternoon.
Visitors can arrive in Salzburg by train from major cities such as Vienna or Munich, and then transfer to the shuttle. It is also possible to travel by car via the A1 motorway (exit Thalgau) or fly into Salzburg Airport and continue by public transport to the main station before taking the shuttle.
For most tourists, the combination of train + shuttle bus is the most convenient and stress-free option, especially during peak festival days.
