Keykubat Beach is the largest beach in Alanya, stretching over 3 km from the city port towards the suburb of Mahmutlar. Despite its size, the beach is less popular than Cleopatra Beach due to sand and seabed quality.
Beach Conditions:
- Sand: Mostly gray and less clean than Cleopatra Beach; some areas have grass or pebbles.
- Seabed: Stones are present in the water, so swimming shoes are recommended. The entry into the sea is shallow, suitable for children.
- Cleanliness: The beach has a Blue Flag, but some sections near the port can be less clean because of boat traffic.
Facilities:
- Entrance is free.
- Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent (~2 USD).
- The beach has a wide promenade (Ahmet Tokuş Boulevard) and a small pedestrian area. Limited shade and trees are present.
Advantages:
- Fewer crowds than Cleopatra Beach.
- More open space for sunbathing and walking.
Location and Transport:
- Southeast of Alanya city center, on the opposite side of Alanya Fortress mountain from Cleopatra Beach.
- Public transport: City buses No. 1 and 101 connect the beach with the city center and Cleopatra Beach.
History:
The beach is named after Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I, the 13th-century Seljuk ruler who built Alanya’s castle, the Red Tower, and other city landmarks.
Keykubat Beach is ideal for visitors seeking space and calm, though the sand and water are not as pristine as at Cleopatra Beach.
