Playmobil FunPark, Zirndorf, Germany

Playmobil FunPark is a children’s theme park in Zirndorf, a suburb of Nuremberg in Bavaria, Germany. It was created by the Playmobil toy company, which has its headquarters in Zirndorf, and is designed as a large outdoor play area rather than a traditional amusement park with rides or carousels. Its play areas are based on Playmobil themes, including a knight’s castle, pirate ship, police station, tree house, farm, gold mine, dinosaur area and, since 2025, a construction site with a quarry. Oversized figures and play structures throughout the park reflect the company’s toy designs.

The park is primarily aimed at children aged 3 to 10 years, though older children and adults can enjoy some attractions such as the rope park, pedal cars, trampolines, and minigolf. Many activities allow adults to participate with children, making it a family-friendly destination.

Key attractions and locations:

• Indoor Pavilion – The glass-roofed HOB-Center, an indoor hall of about 5,000 m² with themed play areas (ship, knight’s castle, fire station, princess castle), a café and a restaurant. Useful in bad weather.
• Police Station – Features a prison, helicopter, control panel, and pedal car track suitable for children over 120 cm, as well as adults.
• Pirate Ship – Located on a large artificial lake, accessible via a narrow bridge or raft, with floating platforms for play.
• Knight’s Castle – Built on a small hill with a throne room, balcony, dungeon, climbing frames, and Playmobil figurines, resembling the company’s toy sets.
• Construction Site – Opened in 2025, with diggers, a quarry and building activities for young builders.
• Mini Golf Course – An 18-hole Astroturf course covering about 5,000 square meters.

Visitor information:

• Opening hours: The 2026 main season runs from 23 March to 8 November: daily 9:00–19:00 until 15 September, then 9:00–18:00. Outside the main season the park is closed or only partly open (mainly the indoor HOB-Center), so check the website for winter dates.
• Tickets: Tickets are sold online only, and the number of visitors is limited. A day ticket costs €24.90 and an afternoon ticket (from 15:00) €21.90, the same price for adults and children aged 3 and over; children under 3 enter free but need a free ticket. A season pass costs €89.90 online.
• Location and access: Brandstätterstraße 2–10, 90513 Zirndorf, Germany. By public transport, take the regional train from Fürth to Zirndorf, then bus 151, which runs hourly to the park in about 10 minutes (or walk about 45 minutes along the Bibert). The large car park costs €5 per day.
• Seasonal considerations: Many water-based attractions are only suitable in warm weather; visitors should bring a change of clothes and towels.
