Parc Astérix in Plailly, about 35 km north of Paris and close to Charles de Gaulle Airport, is a theme park based on the Astérix comics by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. It opened in 1989 and brings to life the world of the indomitable Gauls and their encounters with Romans, Greeks, Egyptians and Vikings.
Its themed areas, from the Gaulish village to Ancient Greece, the Roman Empire and Egypt, offer family rides, live shows and some of the biggest roller coasters in France, including Toutatis, opened in 2023 and at 51 metres and 107 km/h the tallest and fastest in the country, as well as OzIris and Tonnerre 2 Zeus. In 2026 the Egypt area was revamped, with the new water ride La Descente du Nil.
The 2026 season runs from 4 April 2026 to 3 January 2027: the park is open daily until the end of August and then mainly at weekends and during school holidays, including the Halloween and Christmas events. Dated adult tickets cost €56–59 online and a flexible ticket €68. A shuttle bus runs to the park from Charles de Gaulle Airport.
