Noli Beach, also known as Spiaggia dei Pescatori (Fishermen’s Beach), is located in the historic seaside town of Noli on the Italian Riviera in northwestern Italy. The beach lies along the beautiful Golfo dell’Isola, a coastal bay that also includes nearby towns such as Spotorno and Bergeggi. Noli is one of the most charming medieval villages on the Ligurian coast, known for its historic stone towers, narrow streets, and colorful houses facing the sea. The beach is located directly beside the old town, making it one of the most picturesque seaside spots in the region.
The Beach and the Sea
Spiaggia dei Pescatori stretches along a scenic bay framed by green hills and the historic buildings of Noli. The beach consists of soft sand mixed with small pebbles, typical for many Ligurian beaches, and offers clear views across the deep blue waters of the Ligurian Sea. The sea here is usually very clean and transparent, often awarded the Blue Flag for water quality. The seabed slopes gradually, making the beach suitable for swimming, relaxing in shallow water, or enjoying the calm Mediterranean waves.
Because the beach sits directly next to the old town, visitors can easily walk from the sand into the narrow streets filled with cafés, restaurants, and small shops.
Noli was an independent maritime republic from 1192 until 1797. Several of its medieval towers still rise above the rooftops, the castle walls climb the hill behind the town, and the Romanesque church of San Paragorio stands just behind the seafront.
Water Temperature
The waters of the Ligurian Sea become warm during the summer months. On average the sea is about 21–25 °C in June, 24–28 °C in July, 25–30 °C in August and 21–26 °C in September, providing pleasant conditions for swimming.
How to Get to Noli
The easiest way to reach Noli is by car. From Genoa the drive takes about one hour (around 60 km) along the A10 motorway with an exit at Spotorno, followed by a short coastal road. Visitors coming from Milan can reach Noli in about two to two and a half hours by car. Although Noli does not have its own railway station, travelers can arrive by train to the nearby Spotorno–Noli railway station or Finale Ligure Marina railway station, both located within a short distance of the town. From there it takes about 10–15 minutes by bus, taxi, or car to reach the beach and the historic center. The nearest airport is Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport, approximately 55 km away. Once in Noli, most visitors explore the town on foot, as the medieval center and the beach are located close together along the waterfront.
