Serravalle Designer Outlet is a large open-air shopping village in Serravalle Scrivia, in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. Run by McArthurGlen, it is one of the largest designer outlets in Europe, built in the style of an Italian town with squares, arcades and fountains.
Location and Access
The outlet lies about 100 km south of Milan and 50 km north of Genoa, just off the A7 motorway: roughly one hour by car from Milan, 45 minutes from Genoa and under 90 minutes from Turin. There is a large car park on site.
Without a car, the easiest way is one of the daily shuttle buses from central Milan, which several operators run for about €25–35 return. You can also take a train on the Milan–Genoa line to Arquata Scrivia and continue by local bus or taxi for the last 5 km.
Shops and Brands
The centre has more than 230 stores with Italian and international brands, from luxury labels such as Prada, Gucci, Versace and Dolce & Gabbana to Armani, Michael Kors and Furla and sports brands like Nike and Adidas.
Prices and Discounts
Prices are typically 30–70% lower than regular retail prices all year round. The best deals come during the winter and summer sales in January–February and July–August and on Black Friday, and members of the free McArthurGlen Club get an extra 10% off in participating stores.
Visitor Information
Entry is free, and the outlet is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00. On site there are restaurants, cafés, a children’s play area and a tax-free refund service for visitors from outside the EU.
Best Time to Visit
Weekdays are the quietest; weekends, public holidays and the first days of the sales can be very busy, so arrive at opening time.
