The Infiorata di Noto takes place in the historic town of Noto in south-eastern Sicily, a UNESCO-listed town famous for its Baroque architecture. The flower carpet is laid along Via Corrado Nicolaci, a sloping street lined with the carved balconies of Palazzo Nicolaci and closed at the top by the church of Montevergine. Noto can be reached by car, by regional train or by Interbus and AST buses from Syracuse (about 35–55 minutes) and Catania; from the railway station it is a 15–20-minute uphill walk to the historic centre.

The festival was first held in 1980, when flower artists from Genzano di Roma were invited to Noto, and it has since become one of Italy’s best-known floral events. Each year local and guest artists cover the 122-metre street with 16 large panels made of about 400,000 petals, seeds and leaves: some 700 square metres of flower mosaics on a single theme. The 47th edition in 2026 was dedicated to the pop culture of the 20th century. The event attracts tens of thousands of visitors, and a costumed Baroque procession with flag-wavers parades along Corso Vittorio Emanuele.

The Infiorata di Noto is held on the third weekend of May and lasts from Friday to Tuesday. The artists draw and fill the panels at the start of the festival, and the finished carpet stays on show over the weekend and the following days. In 2026 it ran from 15 to 19 May; the next edition is expected on 14–18 May 2027, with the exact dates still to be confirmed by the town of Noto.

Prices and Opening Hours

Entry to Via Nicolaci requires a ticket. In 2026 it cost €5 (plus a €0.80 fee when bought online) and €3 for school groups; children under 12, visitors with disabilities and their companions, and residents of Noto entered free. Tickets are sold online and at the municipal Info Point.

During the festival the street is open from 9:00 until 2:00 at night. The best time to visit is early in the morning, when the flower compositions are fresh, or late in the evening, when the street is illuminated and less crowded.
