Malta's beaches on this page are all in the north-west of the island and on Comino, so they are easy to combine in one day. The Blue Lagoon on Comino is famous for its turquoise, glass-clear water, and boats go there from Ċirkewwa and Sliema. Għadira Bay near Mellieħa is Malta's largest sandy beach, with shallow water that suits children, while Golden Bay and Għajn Tuffieħa (Riviera Beach) are sandy bays below the cliffs, known for their sunsets. Popeye Village, the colourful film set above Anchor Bay, has a small swimming spot of its own. The sea is warm enough for a comfortable swim from June to November.
