Castle De Haar, Utrecht, Netherlands is the largest and most luxurious castle in the Netherlands, renowned for its fairy-tale appearance, elegant interiors, and landscaped gardens.
Although the origins of De Haar date back to the Middle Ages, the castle seen today was extensively rebuilt between 1892 and 1912 by architect Pierre Cuypers. Commissioned by the wealthy Van Zuylen family and financed by the Rothschild family, the restoration transformed the castle into a magnificent Neo-Gothic residence. Today, it is considered one of the finest castles in Europe.
