Rheinfelden weather and climate
Rheinfelden lies on the Rhine just east of Basel, opposite its German twin town of the same name, and shares the region’s mild climate. Summer days reach 24–26 °C from June to August, nights are pleasant at 15–17 °C, and winters stay fairly mild, with 6–9 °C by day. Rain falls on 12–16 days a month, most often in winter and early summer.
A day in the old town
From May to September the medieval old town, the Tempelgasse and the old bridge across the Rhine to Germany are at their best, and the river terraces are pleasant on warm evenings. Spring and autumn, with 16–21 °C, are ideal for walks along the riverbank.
Warm water on cold days
Rheinfelden is a spa town, so the best answer to a cold or rainy day is the saltwater pools of the Sole Uno spa. The Feldschlösschen brewery, with its castle-like buildings on the edge of town, also offers indoor tours.
