Marmaris weather in a pine-covered bay

Marmaris lies in a deep bay surrounded by pine-covered mountains, which keep it hot in summer and surprisingly wet in winter. July and August reach 34–35 °C, with warm nights around 24 °C and almost no rain, while January is the wettest month, with rain on about 15 days, though daytime temperatures still reach 14 °C.

Sailing season and the best months

From May to October the bay is calm and sunny, ideal for boat trips to the coves of the Bozburun Peninsula or a gulet cruise along the coast. June and September, with about 30–31 °C, are a good balance of warm water and bearable heat, and families can spend a hot afternoon at the Aqua Dream water park.

Spring and autumn days out

April–May and October, with 21–26 °C, are the best months for day trips to Dalyan, with its rock tombs and the turtle beach of İztuzu, or for walks in the hills above the town. In winter, check the forecast before heading out on the water: storms can bring heavy rain and strong winds.
