Aqueduct of Vanvitelli, also known as the Caroline Aqueduct, is one of the most remarkable hydraulic engineering projects of the 18th century. Designed by architect Luigi Vanvitelli for King Charles VII of Naples, the aqueduct was constructed to transport water from mountain springs to the magnificent Royal Palace of Caserta and its extensive gardens.
