Europa-Park in Rust, Baden-Württemberg, is Germany’s largest theme park and one of the most visited in Europe. It was opened in 1975 by the Mack family, whose company has been building rides and vehicles since 1780, and the family still runs it today.
Each themed area is dedicated to a European country or region, with matching architecture, food and rides. In 2026 the 18th area, Monaco, opened around Silver Star, at 73 metres Germany’s tallest roller coaster; other famous coasters include Blue Fire, Wodan and Voltron Nevera. The park also puts on big seasonal events for Halloween and in winter.
The summer season runs from late March to early November, with the park open daily from 9:00, and there is also a winter season from late November to early January. A day ticket for adults costs €67–76 depending on the date. Europa-Park has several themed hotels, and right next door is Rulantica, a large indoor water park with separate tickets.
