Dasoudi Beach Park in Limassol (often simply called Dasoudi Beach) is a rare island of greenery in the heart of the city. Unlike many other coastal areas, the main seaside road is set back from the shore and separated by a eucalyptus grove known as Dasoudi Park. This natural buffer creates a tranquil environment where visitors can enjoy both the beach and the fresh scent of eucalyptus trees.

• Facilities: two parking lots (one near Park Beach Hotel, another near Dasoudi Café).
• Atmosphere: quiet, shaded, and well-suited for jogging, cycling, or family strolls.

The beach itself offers a mix of sandy and pebbly stretches.

• Best area: near Dasoudi Café, where the beach is wide and better maintained. Facilities here include:
  • Sun loungers and umbrellas (2.5 EUR each).
  • Free Wi-Fi.
  • Toilets (behind the café).
  • A large children’s playground with a safe rubber surface (renovated in 2019).
• Wild areas: towards the city center, the beach becomes narrower and less maintained. Garbage can accumulate during peak season.
• Water entry: shallow and gentle, ideal for families with children. Visitors may also use the shade of eucalyptus trees instead of renting umbrellas.

Pros

• Green, shaded environment unusual for Limassol beaches.
• Family-friendly facilities (playground, gentle sea entry).
• Easily accessible by foot or bus from central Limassol.

• Sand is gray volcanic in color, not golden.
• Pebbles and stones both on the beach and in the water.
• During summer, the beach can be dirty despite regular cleaning.
• Overall, Limassol beaches are less attractive than those in other parts of Cyprus.

Verdict

Dasoudi Beach is often called the best beach in Limassol—though more accurately it is “the best of the worst.” While it cannot compete with Cyprus’s top beaches in Ayia Napa or Protaras, it remains the most pleasant option within Limassol itself. With greenery, shade, and family facilities, it is worth a visit if you are staying in the city, but travelers seeking a classic Cypriot beach experience should look elsewhere.
