The festival originated in 1980 and has since become one of Italy’s most famous floral events. Each year, artists and volunteers create large-scale floral mosaics using thousands of flower petals arranged into detailed designs inspired by art, culture, religion, or contemporary themes. These temporary artworks cover the entire street, forming a “carpet” that stretches for hundreds of meters. The event attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually, drawn by its artistic creativity and unique atmosphere.

The Infiorata di Noto is typically held on the third weekend of May and lasts for several days, from Friday to Tuesday. In 2026, the festival is expected to take place approximately from 15 to 19 May 2026, with the main displays unveiled over the weekend and remaining visible for a few days afterward.
