The embankment is particularly prominent near Wawel Castle and the city center, where park areas extend along both sides of the river. The stretch of embankment known as the “Vistula Boulevards” features narrow lawns with benches along the riverbank and is the second-largest green area in central Kraków after the Planty Park.

Along the embankment, small boats and floating restaurants are moored, offering dining options on the water. Pleasure cruises also operate on the Vistula, typically lasting around an hour and a half and providing views of the Old Town and Wawel Castle. Such cruises generally cost between 8 and 10 euros per person.

In the vicinity of the Grunwald Bridge, the embankment features an organized recreational area with a children’s playground, a beach bar, and a swimming pool. Although the Vistula appears clean and transparent, swimming in the river is officially prohibited, though some locals do enter the water. Several lakes in the suburbs of Kraków are more suitable for swimming.

Another notable feature of the Vistula is the Podgórski Bridge, a modern structure completed in 2010 in the Kazimierz district. The bridge is decorated with sculptural elements and illuminated at night with colorful lighting. It has also become a romantic landmark, as couples attach padlocks to its railings as a symbol of their love.
