圣安东尼奥音乐节/大众游行 – Festas de Lisboa, 葡萄牙

The Festas de Lisboa are a month-long series of traditional celebrations held every June in Lisbon. The festival is dedicated primarily to Saint Anthony of Lisbon, the city’s patron saint, whose feast day is celebrated on 12–13 June. In 2026, the main festivities will run throughout June, with the peak occurring during the nights of 12 and 13 June, when Lisbon transforms into a large open-air street festival.

The celebrations take place across the entire city, but the most атмосферic locations are the historic neighborhoods such as Alfama, Bairro Alto, Mouraria, and Graça. These districts are decorated with colorful streamers, lanterns, and arches, while narrow streets fill with music, dancing, and food stalls. The atmosphere is informal and lively, with locals and visitors gathering late into the night in what are known as arraiais—traditional street parties.

One of the highlights for tourists is the Marchas Populares, a colorful parade held on the evening of 12 June along Avenida da Liberdade. Different neighborhoods compete with choreographed performances, costumes, and music, creating a festive spectacle that attracts large crowds. Another key tradition is the mass weddings (Casamentos de Santo António), where several couples are married in a public ceremony sponsored by the city.

Food plays a central role in the festival. Grilled sardines served on bread, along with local wine or beer, are the iconic dish of the season. Throughout the city, visitors can enjoy live music ranging from traditional fado to popular dance tunes, as well as spontaneous performances in the streets.
