The Lviv National Theater of Opera and Ballet, also known as the Lviv Opera House, is one of the most beautiful theaters in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. It is located at the beginning of the green park zone along Svobody Avenue in the center of Lviv.

History and Architecture

The theater was founded in 1900 during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Its architectural design and ornate façade resemble the Vienna Opera House, reflecting the imperial influence of the era. The theater features richly decorated sculptures on the exterior and preserved imperial apartments of Franz Joseph, which include access to a private box.

The theater can accommodate 1,100 spectators.

Performances and Visits

The opera house hosts a repertoire of more than 40 ballets and operas. Visitors can attend performances or take guided excursions to admire the historical interiors. Ticket prices are notably affordable, often less than 100 UAH (less than 3 euros), making it accessible compared to other European opera houses.
